Good for this person. This is exactly what you do. Screw the job.

I had a job that made me work an all nighter, 30 hours straight, over Thanksgiving. I resigned that Monday and it was one of the most satisfying decisions I’ve ever made.

Please pay attention to all the manipulation tactics this boss uses, because they’re pulling out every trick in the book.

  • “I’m not your boss, I’m your friend”
  • “Other people will be hurt by this and it’s your fault and I’m going to tell them all that”
  • Mocking language
  • Jobs are important too
  • “Be a team player”
  • “We’re your family too”
  • Talking as if this is a thing you must do
  • “We all make sacrifices”
  • Undermining your authority
  • “You caused all of this, really”
  • Accusing you of being “unprofessional”
  • “Look at the money you cost us”
  • “Just laugh it off and come back to work”

This is like a 101 course in how employers use guilt trips to coerce you into putting up with their bullshit. This is precisely why you should never trust those employers who insist that they’re “like a family.” They are not. It’s just a ruse so that your boss can neg you into putting your job ahead of your actual life.

Reminders for the Anxious/Depressed Creatives

  • You’re more than what you make.
  • Your productivity does not determine your value.
  • It’s okay to do nothing sometimes.
  • Not everything you do has to result in a product.
  • Not everything you make has to be important, significant, or even good.
  • You can make things just for yourself.
  • You can keep secrets for yourself, whether it’s not posting some of your projects or not sharing your techniques.
  • You’re allowed to say no.
  • You’re allowed to rest.

2023 Updates:

  • Inspiration doesn’t cure burnout. Rest cures burnout.
  • People will wait for you; take your time and come back when you are ready.
  • It’s okay to scrap projects that no longer excite you, even if other people like them.
  • It’s delightful and excellent to be openly proud of your work.
  • Afford yourself the same gentleness that you would afford another creative - negative self-talk is counterproductive and frankly cruel.
  • Self-indulgent creations are satisfying to others as well; don’t apologize for your own pleasure.
  • Actually, don’t apologize for your work at all.

TRANSFORMERS: RISE OF THE BEASTS

hcs about phoebe lands

  • phoebe is agender with she/they pronouns and is a teen ghoul. this was a year after the bombs fell
  • she’s sorta that teen that looks creepy from afar but getting to know her, she’s actually a good kid. does jobs only in athol and does help out the town. actions speak louder than words? that was phoebe in a nutshell.
  • HOWEVER deep down, she absolutely and positively, does not trust the town even though they are nice folks. she’s been on her own since she was 12 and it was because of the murder of her mother and the missing father that she began distrustful of other people. she became depressed at a young age and still has that emotional weight of parent abandonment. ALTHOUGH she does know that wasn’t her parents fault, it still hits her just as much
  • despite taking jobs, she usually stays out of jobs when it came to causing trouble with raiders. she lets the other adults handle those types of jobs. the types of job she usually does is delivery jobs or supply jobs.
  • she does not like it when you mention her last name, so people in town just call her by phee or phoebe. they do know her last name, but they don’t know why she gets angry at people for saying her full name. which of course, her mother died. she does not even mention her other last name valentine, because she thought it’ll be confusing to find someone else who has the same last name as valentine
  • she has a pip-boy in her left wrist that was given to her by a member of the town, Hera Dimes. Hera was a former vault dweller from Vault 4.
  • she’s a smart kid, being able to read literature that can be hard to read by most people and she can solve complex puzzles. before she died, her mother was very happy that phoebe was going to have a nice bright future ahead of her when she was told that phoebe wanted to be a doctor. what a bright future it had in store for phoebe she gave up on wanting to be a doctor for a long time.
  • if she had her own fallout 4 stats, her sneak would be pretty high, but her strength is pretty average.
  • its known that ghouls age slowly. this is the reason why she still looks like a teen and is 17 years old.

A little Fallout: Ocean Song backstory:

Trident is an American shipping and cruise line based out of NYC. Founded in 1950, the company aggressively shouldered out rival lines for an almost total monopoly on ocean travel and shipping. In 2076 its final liner set sail…
